Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji is a incredible side course dish / Indian chat served with Bun called Pav(Bread), prepared with wholesome vegetables, spices.

What do you Need ?[serves 5]

  1. 2 potatoes; peeled and diced
  2. 2 carrots; peeled and diced
  3. 1/2 cup fresh/frozen peas
  4. 1/2 cup cauliflower (grated)
  5. 1 green pepper (capsicum); finely chopped
  6. 1 onion ;finely chopped ( reserve some onions for garnish)
  7. 1 large size tomato; finely chopped
  8. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  9. 3 tbsp pav bhaji masala (available at all Indian stores)
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 1-2 tbsp cooking oil
For Garnishing

 1.1 tbsp butter
 2.1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves(chopped)
 3.Lemon wedges/ juice of 1 lemon
 4.Pav buns / burger bun (available in Indian stores)



 1.Heat the cooking oil in a pan, add onions, tomatoes, green chilies, ginger garlic paste and sauté until it turn soft and mushy.
2.Take a pressure cooker, add a ½ cup of water and then add diced potatoes, carrots, grated cauliflower, capsicum and peas. Cook for 2 whistle.
3.Open the pressure pan lid, add the already sautéed onion, tomatoes paste, pav bhaji mix powder, spices powder, some water, cook for few minutes. slightly smash the mix with scoop. cover the lid and reduce the flame for 10 minutes
 4.Add some pav bhaji mix, salt for your taste and consistency
 5.Garnish the chopped coriander leaves and butter.
 6.Heat the Tava, grease it with butter or ghee (clarified butter), slice the bun/bread into half (horizontal). Place the buns, cook it both sides on the pan until crisp. Flip and repeat on other side.
7.Serve Pav and Bhaji with lemon wedges and raw onions. Enjoy anytime any day!!.
